An award winning company are seeking Service Technicians to join their service team and to become part of their successful car dealership. The Service Technicians will perform routine and essential service work on Volkswagen vehicles, diagnosing and rectifying any issues in a timely manner and to a high standard. The Service Technicians will also prepare and check new vehicles prior to delivery to the customer. These roles will suit people who can learn quickly and want to be part of a successful and high performing team of Service Technicians.
Applications from ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make initial inspection of the vehicle
- Accurately, skilfully and efficiently undertake the repair and servicing of motor vehicles
- Detect and diagnose faults for repair
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to the customer’s complete satisfaction
- Responsibility for the care of the customer’s vehicle at all times
- Contribute to maintaining a health and safety environment
- Make quality checks at end of work
- Monitor own performance
- Create and maintain positive working relationships
- Contribute to improved service processes and good housekeeping
- Complete all paperwork thoroughly
Knowledge, skills and qualifications - desirable:
The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, preferably with qualified technician status, although manufacturer specific training will be provided. Strong administration skills and a customer facing attitude are essential. Applicants must have a flexible approach to work and a full understanding of customer satisfaction.
Person Specification:
A striving for customer focus is essential as is a commitment to approach every situation with a desire to understand, learn and deliver. The ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly combined with an ability to use every contact with the customer to build a relationship is a must. You will be the type of person who takes responsibility for ensuring nothing is left to chance.
