The Company and the Role:
The Company has been exceeding customer`s expectations since 2001. Their commitment to customer service, quality of work, integrity, technical mastery, and value have led them retaining over 95% of all clients they have ever worked with.
Today they service an enviable blue-chip client list throughout the UK from 4 regional offices.
With a turn-over more than £7million and over 50 employees, they are large enough to reliably deliver but still lean enough to offer competitive costs and a personal service.
Because of a growing client base, they now require additional Commercial Gas Engineers for service, maintenance and fault finding.
Vacancies exist in and around Glasgow. The positions are employed status and permanent.
Key Features of the Role:
Working on Direct fired air heaters * Gas Boilers - up to 1,000 kW * Modular, condensing, atmospheric * Direct fired water heaters up to 600 kW * Pumps * Plate heat exchangers * Expansion vessels and pressurisation units * Dosing systems * Controls, actuators, instruments * Commercial Gas Appliances * Gas Safety Systems * Commercial catering appliances (preferable)
Maintain the company image, be polite and courteous to all customers. Keep service van and uniform clean. Always attend site well presented to project a professional image.
Fulfil all statutory and company requirements with regard to Health and Safety and adhere to all customer site requirements.
Attend training courses when directed.
Complete all paperwork (hard copy or electronic) with the relevant and required information and within the specified timescale using all support including IT as necessary. This will include clear identification of part numbers, order numbers, times and dates, recommended further action and customer commentary.
Utilise all available support to effect fast and efficient diagnosis and repair.
Keep your Supervisor updated with progress and notify them of potential problems with customers and their future requirements in a timely manner, using appropriate methods e.g. email, telephone.
Keep the customer informed about the progress of the repair and any follow-up work required using head office staff as back up and continuity.
Flexibility needed to be on call approximately one week in four. Your standby week will typically start at 6am on Monday morning and will end at 6am the following Monday. A rota will be shared with you at least 1 month in advance.
The normal working hours on site may vary according to the client, however they will typically be within the window of 8.00 am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Full time staff salary is based on 40 hours work per week. This is equivalent to 8.5 hours per day, including an unpaid 30 minute lunch break.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be a substantially experienced Commercial Gas Engineer certified to CODNCO1-Commercial, ICPN1, CIGA1, CORT1, CDGA1
Possess Commercial Gas safe registration.
Proficient in fault finding and repair.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Have good communication skills, oral and written.
Able to work to a high standard and to timescales as required.
Have experience of and a good understanding of Health & Safety requirements working in an engineering practice.
Have a strong commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
Have excellent organisational skills, be resourceful and a problem solver.
Display a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to multi‐task, prioritising workloads to work to tight deadlines.
Be flexible in your approach and able to cope with the diverse needs of the post.
Be someone who is highly motivated and possessing a resilience to work under pressure, positive, personable and optimistic with a can-do attitude.
Be IT/ PC literate and have a full UK Drivers Licence.
