An innovative software solutions company needs a Project Manager with experience of software delivery in the finance sector (on the vendor-side rather than in-house project roll-outs). The Project Manager will ideally be experienced working for SMEs, such as a small start-up, or a dynamic FinTech company. The Project Manager will have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders to successfully deliver multifaceted projects. The Project Manager will, therefore, need to be a passionate leader with the drive to keep motivated until a successful result is achieved. Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Programme Managers to manage project delivery including scope, deliverables, resources, timelines and budget
- Support Programme Managers in identifying milestones and creation of detailed project plans
- Manage and communicate all deviations from project plan internally and to clients
- Manage key customer stakeholders by setting expectations via excellent communication
- Control projects by identifying, tracking, managing, mitigating and resolving project issues and risks – providing internal and external reporting
- Participate in project meetings, collaborate with Programme and Project team members to build consensus on challenging issues
- Provide support for project documentation such as bi-weekly status reports, issue/risk logs, time analyses and analysing/estimating project costs and forecasts
- Ensure information relating to product functionality is fed into the product development team for enhancement requests
- Ensure coordination between internal development teams
- Attend regular client meetings on site or at events to build and maintain relationships
Knowledge, skills and qualifications - essential:
- Strong experience in software product delivery preferably within the Retail Finance/ Retail Banking/Financial Services industry
- Strong experience in working with Financial Technology (FinTech)
- Advanced user of Microsoft Project
- Demonstrable success managing stakeholders in a customer facing role
- Ability to resolve/negotiate issues or complex challenges, particularly around scope, timelines and budgets
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Degree qualified
- Full driving licence
Knowledge, skills and qualifications - desirable:
- Project management qualifications; for example, PMBOK, PMP, Agile, Six Sigma, Prince2
Person Specification:
You will be energetic and driven, capable of reacting quickly and calmly to situations as they arise. Although you are outgoing, you have an inclusive leadership approach but you are not afraid to take a task-focused approach if the situation demands it.
