An innovative supplier of healthcare solutions for elderly or vulnerable people requires a fire engineer to become part of their expanding team. Possessing great methodical and interactive skills, the fire engineer will provide outstanding maintenance and commissioning of fire detection systems and third party products. Experience of fire alarms is a must to support the company in boosting the quality life for people in residential homes or supported living accommodation. For the right person, the client will consider supporting the achievement of Fire Industry Association (FIA) accreditation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain equipment and systems
- Perform preventative maintenance checks
- Provide technical assistance and training to other team members and customers
- Mentor and coach Warden Call Technicians and Engineers on Fire Detection Systems
- Installation activities, site visits / commissioning / surveys etc.
- A first-rate fix-rate which consistently meets or exceeds 95% of all jobs attended
- Identify and resolve issues impacting upon customer satisfaction
- Commission new installations prior to hand-over
- Have an in-depth knowledge of all core products
- Achieve and exceed productivity and performance targets and KPIs
- Promote the company as a world class service provider
Knowledge, skills and qualifications - essential:
- A basic understanding of Electrical and Electronic systems/principles
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent time management and planning skills
- Good IT skills
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety issues
- Full driving licence
Knowledge, skills and qualifications - desirable:
- Ideally qualified to BS7671, Part P in electrical installation but experience in ADT, Chubb etc. type of alarms would be acceptable
- Knowledge/experience of Fire Alarm installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of the relevant British Standards regarding Fire Alarm systems currently BS5839
- A pass at ONC level, equivalent NVQ Level 2 or 3 or alternative in a technical discipline (Electrical or Electronic Engineering)
- Ability to work at heights or in confined dusty spaces
- Experience of working with KPI’s, performance measures, SLA’s or similar
- Experience of working with the elderly or vulnerable
- Some knowledge of networks and IP based systems
Person Specification:
You should be smart and tidy in appearance with a good health record and a flexible approach to work. In addition, you will be someone who is able to demonstrate a customer first attitude. It is essential that you are able to communicate at all levels of management, residents and carers and deal with all aspects of service in a sensitive and positive manner. You will be willing to undertake training as required and will agree to undertake a CRB check.
