A leading defense/aerospace company is in need of a Contracts Manager to join a fast-paced commercial department servicing accounts in the Gulf States and Pakistan. The Contracts Manager will primarily assist the commercial manager of the company’s World Group in managing a team of commercial officers. However, they will also be responsible for the effective commercial account management of allocated customer accounts, with particular focus on bid and proposal preparation in accordance with company procedures, contract management and customer relationship management. This challenging role will require a self-motivated individual who has the ability to work and meet deadlines. They will also demonstrate self-confidence when communicating at all levels within the company and with Senior Customer Representatives. Contracts Managers should be highly literate and numerate, with a high-level of attention to detail, strong IT skills, and have the adaptability and willingness to learn new procedures or flex to ever-changing customer’s requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Team management of a small team of Commercial /Senior Commercial Officers as delegated by the Commercial Manager
- Customer relationships – to build and maintain professional and mutually beneficial customer relationships and be the focal point for customer queries
- Business development – to possess a detailed understanding of customer needs in order to support the identification of business opportunities
- Contract management - negotiation of contract, changes and associated terms with allocated customer accounts, ensure any new and / or updated customer requirements are known
- Bid negotiation and preparation – preparation of routine bids using SAP data, proposals/ quotation, preparation of major bids, proposals and quotations for review and approval
- Efficient management of contract administration including invoice management, customer reports, etc.
- Debt management – monitor debt status and follow through as appropriate
- Represent the department and the company internally and externally as required both in UK and elsewhere
Experience
Essential
- Thorough knowledge of the Aerospace/Defence sector or similar sector
- In-depth knowledge procurement procedure and practice
- Previous management experience
- Strong customer liaison and relationship building expertise
Desirable
- Experience of business travel to Pakistan and the Gulf States, most desirably dealing with aerospace and defence customers in the region

- Ability to act and negotiate whilst overseas with minimal support
Desirable
- Degree or equivalent level in Law, Business Management, Finance, Engineering, etc.
- User knowledge of SAP
- IACCM - Either personal accreditation or previous corporate affiliation
- Experience of communications with customers whose first language is not English.
Contract: Permanent
