The Company is one of the largest Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) suppliers in the UK and has over 30 years` experience providing alternative energy solutions to domestic and commercial customers.
Part of a major plc, a sales, marketing, distribution and business support services group headquartered in Europe, the Company is a highly successful business that places people at the heart of their organisation.
The Company is seeking an additional HGV Driver Class 2 + ADR to deliver cylinders (LPG) from their depot in Cambridge. The position is permanent.
The Company is very supportive to the ex-military community so applications are welcome from military leavers or ex-military personnel.
Key Features of the Role:
You will be delivering (LPG) in cylinders to domestic and commercial customers in and around the Cambridgeshire area which will include some weekend working as part of a rostered shift pattern
Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures
Completing all necessary paperwork ensuring accuracy standard is maintained
Meeting the Company`s Driver performance standards
Loading the vehicle on site in accordance with site procedures
Deliveries to customer premises in accordance with customer and site procedures
You will ensure that the Company and brand is held in the utmost regard when delivering the product to the customer and fully understand the products and services sold by the team on-site.
You will be fully conversant with all the vehicles operations on site in case of colleague absences and vehicle malfunctions and take responsibility for loading and discharging in a sensible manner and in accordance with our client`s policy and procedures.
You will recognise the role team work has in the company`s success and will contribute to this through displaying enthusiasm, co-operation and flexibility; treating others the way they would wish to be treated themselves.
You will build relationships with teams throughout the business to ensure excellence in operations and customer service.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will ideally be an accomplished HGV 2 Driver with an ADR in `Packages` with minimum Class 2 gasses. (Tanks is advantageous)
Possess HGV 2 Category C or C + E licence with a Driver Qualification Card (DCPC).
A Digital tacho card is essential and previous experience in a similar role in the fuel industry is an advantage.
Be a keen team player with a focus on providing excellent customer service, have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Be familiar with health and safety procedures as they relate to the work of a Tanker Driver.
Be familiar with safe loading and unloading procedures.
Be familiar with defensive driving techniques.
Be reliable, flexible and hard working.
Be honest and trustworthy.
Have a safe driving record.
A flexible approach to working hours is essential.
What`s on Offer:
The basic salary will be dependent upon your experience and the qualifications you hold.
The working week is a 45-hour week, 4 on 2 off.
Overtime to be worked on an \"as and when\" basis, when required
Holiday entitlement of 33 days pro rata inclusive of bank and public holidays
Death in Service insurance and a pension scheme.
Progression onto Tanker driving.
Fully committed training, development and refreshment courses, planned each year both in-house and externally supported by the Company.
