The Company is currently seeking a Lead Bid Engineer reporting to the Bid Manager to be based at their site in the West Midlands. The post is permanent. The post is mainly UK based but may require visits abroad for commissioning purposes. You will be required to design and manage individual sub-systems during the sales stage of a project through to submission of a bid.
Key Features of the Role:
You will be a single point of contact and single point of responsibility to both the customer and bid manager for the technical design of bids under their control.
You will be required to undertake some technical management and mentoring of the Bid Engineers and others.
Carry out Design Authority for systems designed by Bid Engineers and recognise the lead authority within the Company for at least two systems / product ranges. You should have detailed knowledge of applicable industry standards and specifications.
The role will require you to carry out customer and supplier liaison, provide accurate detailed sub-system design drawings, provide accurate detailed sub-system documents and be on time delivery of documentation.
On-site commissioning activities, from time to time, will need to be carried out. You should have the ability to read and translate customer specifications amongst the sub-system configuration / set-up.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be required to be able to carry out detailed technical design knowledge of 2 or more of the preferred sub-systems and be able to author technical documents and drawings with good experience of technical design capability.
Preferred skills should include: Detailed design and configuration knowledge of the following systems: CCTV, PABX, PA, SDH, Radio, Microwave, Meteorological, PDH, Satellite, Security Systems, LAN`s, WAN`s, Entertainment, Cabling and Power Supplies.
Educational Qualifications or a Training Record should be to a degree or HND level in the relevant discipline with proven training certification in relevant sub-system.
What`s on Offer:
A basic salary of around £45k per annum plus Pension, 23 holidays (plus Bank and Public holidays), BHSF - Bronze cover immediate benefit, immediate Death in Service x 2 salary and sports and social event activities.
