Forces Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Stores Operative ideally from an ex-military background or military leavers, to work within the engineering department of a global manufacturer and supplier of spices, seasoning mixes, condiments and other flavourful products.
The successful Stores Operative must have previous stores / warehouse experience and will be required to work the Day Shift. The typical working hours will be 8am–5pm Monday to Friday.
Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Royal Marines) however all applications will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick up deliveries from security and book them into Stores, or mark them up and deliver them to the required person
- Assist engineers identify engineering parts in Stores (using the Inventory System) and on the shop floor, and bring in technical help if needed
- Survey lines on the shop floor for critical spares
- Erect racking when needed
- Deliver quotes requested by customer using the appropriate enquiry order process
- Keep on top of outstanding orders and report any changes in the delivery dates
- Keep Stores office and Stores area tidy at all times, in line with Food Factory Standards
- Undertake regular weekly stock takes on areas of the Stores and report any differences
- Report low stock items in Stores, using the IMS System to identify and quote accordingly
- Carry out weekly checks of consumable items and quote accordingly – including lubricants
- Keep the client up-to-date with emergency orders ETAs etc.
- Any other reasonable requests made by the key team members
Skills & Person Specifications:
- Stores experience (essential)
- Hold a Fork Lift Truck Licence (FLT) or has experience using a Forklift
- Knowledge of industry products and processes
- Experience of working in a service related industry
- Organised with an eye for detail
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent people skills
- Can remain calm under pressure
- Provide a professional service at all times
- Experience working in a food production environment (desirable)
Salary: £20,000 to £25,000 (DOE)
