The Company and the Role:
Amazing Deskside Support Engineer opportunity within an award-winning national telecommunications business based in South Wales. This permanent role will have you providing hardware and software support.
This national business has client assets in South Wales which they maintain and manage, so you will be working both remotely and at desk-side on IT products within required SLA’s.
You will act as the first point of contact for users in order to assist with first time fixes, and will assist with adhoc IT-related tasks, as well as providing coverage for the Team Leader.
The role is full time and permanent working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.

Key Features of the Role:
As Deskside Support Engineer you will provide high quality, highly visible desk-side support functions.
Install or re-install any applications in line with procedures, perform diagnostic services, open tickets and work with service desk plus external support parties, for hardware failures or software issues.
Update call management systems, provide alternative solutions including a “Box/Hardware Swap”. Assist in logistics, stock management and asset tracking.
Perform iMac activities, provide remote support of end-users and simple patching services (from floor to desktop + comms room), and provide simple cabling diagnostic services.
Ensuring all paperwork completed, updating Asset Database systems and spreadsheets, working as part of a team rota, carrying out overtime when required or out of hour’s project activity, ensuring Team Leaders are aware of any potential escalations.

Knowledge and Skills:
As a Deskside Support Engineer you must be skilled and accomplished in:
Deskside support
Product related technical background
Knowledge of Windows 7 and Office 2010
SCCM knowledge
Manual installation, handovers and user end training
Understanding of VoIP telephony concepts
VPN wireless knowledge
Working to SLA’s
Microsoft Active Directory technologies
Microsoft Exchange messaging products in an  AD environment
Service delivery
VIP / exec support
Printer maintenance
Full UK Driving Licence

What’s on Offer?
A basic salary from £24,000 up to £26,000, which will be assessed at interview and based on experience plus other contributing factors.
Core working hours 9:00 till 17:30 Monday to Friday, however there may well be some requirements to work some weekends and outside of these hours.
25 days holiday + bank holidays + additional 1 day’s holiday for every year worked up to 30 days holiday maximum.
The option to buy up to an extra 5 holiday days.
