The Business Development Executive will work for a Construction Consultancy Practice that provides Quantity Surveying, Project Management and legal support services to the construction industry and legal practices in the UK. The Business Development Executive will be responsible for developing business prospects in the West, Midlands and the North, by building lasting working relationships with existing and new clients. The role will be largely autonomous and you will need to be adept at engaging with board level decision makers whilst presenting a highly professional image at all times. The Business Development Executive will propose an appropriate solution for every client to boost top-line revenue growth, increase customer acquisition levels and profitability. You will be an enthusiastic, experienced and driven sales achiever with a track record of over performance against targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales targets
  • Sell the Consultancy’s services to existing and prospective customers
  • Coordinate sales effort within the Consultancy
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Prepare and negotiate proposals through to sales closure
  • Nurture contacts from leads through to business prospects
  • Identify marketing opportunities by understanding customer requirements
  • Define and target market and competitor share including competitor SWOTs
  • Key contributor to the Business Development Plan
  • Clearly articulate progress and achievements against the Business Development Plan
  • Attend management meetings to review Business Development Plan performance
  • Responsible for live updates of CRM system
  • Attend regional sales and networking events

Knowledge, skills and qualifications - desirable:

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent
  • Construction industry experience
  • Experience within the Retail, Leisure, Education, and Health Care sectors
  • Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices

Person Specification:

You must be results driven with the ability to flourish in a competitive environment.  A natural leader, you will have excellent communication and people management skills.  Displaying a positive, confident and determined approach, you will be resilient with a high degree of self-motivation and ambition. A reasoned decision maker, you will be commercially astute, with the ability to interpret contracts, displaying a high level of numeracy and IT skills. You will have a strong character and a good sense of humour.

Salary:                         £40,000 (£60,000 OTE)
