Heat Treatment Operator

A leading UK Company specialising in heat treatment for the Aerospace, Medical and Motorsport industries has a requirement for Heat Treatment Operator.
The Heat Treatment Operator role involves the use of heating, chilling, normally to extreme temperatures, to achieve hardening of a material such as glass. Proper heat treating requires precise control over temperature, time held at a certain temperature and cooling rate.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn a highly sought after skill required by numerous industries worldwide.
This role requires shift work, 40 hours per week over a 3 shift rotation pattern that will include weekends every fortnight and an 0700 start time. Applicants must therefore have own transport.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Training is provided for all the below and can be paced to suit candidates abilities. A list of what the Heat Treatment Operator is responsible for includes
Using/Operating furnaces under supervision of senior members of staff
Use of job card system, understanding, following quality details, choosing correct process routes and documenting equipment use on job card/route card
Making up loads, using relevant jigging and fixtures dependent on size/shape/geometry/orientation of customers work to enable efficient/effective use maximising furnace capacity
Putting loads into the furnace and activating process parameters. Time and temperature.
Cleaning mainly work area but also production related equipment
Basic bulk work testing - Testing work that has been processed to ensure it has reacted as expected
Simple Plant Maintenance and Maintenance of the shop environment
