The Company is a well-established and growing organisation, working with prestigious clients covering London and the Home Counties. Looking to increase the number of Mobile Heating Commercial Pipe Fitter / Mechanical Engineers in this award-winning business. This is a full-time permanent vacancy.
The Mobile Heating Commercial Pipe Fitter / Mechanical Engineer will be working mainly in large residential blocks, commercial offices and schools.
You will be providing maintenance, repairs and minor installation work on both aged traditional plant to modern energy centres.
Most of your work will be within plant rooms with all associated equipment using your knowledge of heating distribution and ventilation systems.
You will routinely carry out mechanical maintenance of items such as pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels and valves.
Key Features of the Role:
You will be an integral part of the business, assisting Managing Agents, Property Owners, Residential Management Committees, Consulting Engineers and Facilities Managers.
You will be working on wet systems in both modern and aged large residential blocks and commercial buildings running from a central plant room.
The role will involve planned mechanical maintenance on non-electrical or gas systems, with a high proportion of reactive and quoted works, which may involve minor domestic plumbing in residential apartments, typically radiator and valve problems, crossover chasing and rectification etc
You will undertake maintenance repair and minor installation works on a rotational basis, including call outs, as the company operates a 24/7/365 call out service (1 week in 7).
99% of your work will be carried out inside the M25, with some work up to 10 miles outside of the M25. This is a mobile role, you will only be in the office for vehicle repairs or adhoc reasons.
You will be supported by fully experienced and dedicated General Manager, Project Managers and Technical Support Desk, of qualified Engineers.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ideally you will be an accomplished Mobile Heating Commercial Pipe Fitter / Mechanical Engineer, ideally living with in the M25 or if outside living within easy reach of the M25.
You will have experience of wet system in both modern and aged large residential blocks and commercial buildings running from a central plant room.
You will have an understanding of both gravity and pressurised, single, two pipe, ladder and district distribution systems.
You will be experienced in Pipe work from ½\" to 4\" covering galvanised , iron, steel, copper, plastic, composite etc., to include mapress fittings or similar systems.
You will have a working knowledge of pumps, pressure and expansion vessels, DMZ valves, basic mechanical maintenance of plate exchangers, strainers, side stream filtration systems and able to fault find on building related heating, hot and cold-water distribution problems.
The work may involve emergency repairs, breaking out of walls and floors to access pipe work.
You should ideally have worked for an award winning and accredited Company.
You must have a full and valid UK driving licence to carry out this role.
Due to the clients worked with, all applicants will be required to clear a DBS check.
What`s on Offer:
The basic salary will depend upon your experience but will be up to £38,000
Overtime pot of £5,000 per annum at time and a half or double time, depending on day.
`Call Out` standby allowance £150 + each call-out job is a minimum of 3 hours at a time and a half or double time, depending on day and time.
Additional Christmas bonus, loyalty bonus and incentive bonuses (at company discretion).
Working 40 hours per week 8am - 5pm
Weekly paid
Fully equipped van less than 3 years (Transit or Similar). Mileage not paid, private use of van allowed.
Company uniform, phone, PDA tablet, fuel card, parking credit card, £250 float.
Child care voucher scheme.
Auto enrolment pension.
Holiday entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays.
Sickness insurance 1% contribution to cover 100% of wages after 7-day deferment.
