The Company and the Role:
Amazing Managed Hosting Engineer Tier 3 opportunity within an award-winning national Telecommunications business based in West Yorkshire. This permanent role will have you working in a Tier 3 team.
Working in conjunction with Front Line Operations and Managed Hosting Engineers to provide incident triage and resolution, identify problems or root cause, and back up such activity with appropriate documentation for population into the knowledge base.
The company will want you to ensure that incidents are resolved within SLA`s, either directly or through guiding Managed Hosting Engineers in resolution, providing full time resolution on customer incidents escalated from their Service Desk.
The company will expect you to be able to explain complex technical issues, in a non-technical way, and provide resource for small project implementations.
The business has many subject matter experts, and you will assist various teams through knowledge transfer, or training and guidance on best practice, whilst ensuring you stay up to date on the latest developments.
Key Features of the Role:
As a Managed Hosting Engineer working on Tier 3 you will be also responsible for performing trend analysis, leading to the identification of reoccurring faults and resolving repeat faults under problem management.
Responsible for pro-actively identifying serious issues, and identifying a course of action, to minimise or eradicate the possibility of impacting customer`s systems availability.
Responsible for service restoration, which must be at the forefront of incident resolution, in order to meet contractual SLA`s and OLA`s.
Responsible for instigating and working within a Continual Service Improvement Plan, to offer better quality, and improved service at Service Desk or Front-Line Operations and Tier 2, through documented solutions, guidelines and feedback.
Knowledge and Skills:
As an accomplished Managed Hosting Engineer working in the Tier 3 team, you must have worked in Systems Support 2nd or 3rd line roles, in a Service Provider or Outsource environment, understanding OLA`s, SLA`s and KPI`s.
You must have experience supporting Azure infrastructure in a 3rd line support capacity, as well as holding a recognised certification for Microsoft Azure \"70-533 Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions\".
You must be using SaaS, PaaS and IaaS within Azure, and have recognised certifications and or relevant experience of Office 365.
You must have demonstrable knowledge and experience of PowerShell scripting, with excellent experience in managing Virtual Environments (VMware, Hyper-V), Managing Active Directory, ADFS and Group Policy.
You must have excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS and DHCP, as well as an excellent understanding of ITIL framework, and good knowledge of remote software and tools.
You must have proven capability and demonstrable experience of problem, incident and change management, with demonstrable ability to identify service restoration workarounds, whilst developing root cause fixes.
It is also desirable for you to have a working knowledge of Exchange, SCCM, Citrix, Networks, Replication, Storage and Backup Technologies (Veeam, Backup Exec, Asigra), and how they interact within an overall technical solution.
What`s on Offer?
Basic salary range for a Managed Hosting Engineer working in the Tier 3 team starts at £45,000 but can go up to £50,000, which will be assessed at interview and based on experience plus other contributing factors.
Core working hours are Monday to Friday (9:00 to 17:30), however there may well be some requirements to work on an Out of Hours rota depending on business decisions.
25 days holiday + bank holidays + additional 1 day`s holiday for every year worked up to 30 days holiday maximum.
The option to buy up to an extra 5 holiday days.
