The Company and the Role:
They are a stunning gastro pub/hotel set in Berkshire just north of Newbury. They are just about to complete a massive refurbishment and extension. This business is forward thinking, dynamic and ever growing. The kitchen is headed by an amazing Head Chef and they are seeking a Commis Chef to add to their brigade. This role is full time and can offer accommodation if required.
Key Features of the Role:
You will be working with an ever changing fresh and vibrant menu.
As a Commis Chef you`re on the first rung of the ladder to becoming a great Chef. This is your big chance to learn all there is to know about your trade as well as the standard and style of cooking set by the Head Chef
You will need to be a special Commis Chef, somebody with a sleeves roll-up attitude and a desire to succeed as an important member of the team.
You will be working under a very talented Head Chef and the team who will give you the necessary guidance that will increase your ability and knowledge of the catering industry
Knowledge and Skills:
Be an existing Commis Chef with some experience at the same level.
Familiar with all current legislation’s regarding food hygiene, safety, risk assessments etc.
A great passion for cooking and show great enthusiasm to learn.
Used to working with fresh, seasonal ingredients ideally obsessed with British cuisine.
Have a ‘can do’ attitude and ambition to progress your career.
Possess excellent communication and team skills
What’s on Offer?
A fantastic salary starting at £20,000 up to £23,000 per annum dependent on experience
Tips issued, roughly an extra £3000 per annum
Accommodation can be offered in the form of a shared house, opposite the pub
No more than 48 hours a week contract
Working under a very talented Head Chef who creates a fun, happy, family atmosphere
