Description :

A highly qualified and experienced Electromechanical Engineer is needed to perform plant operations with a small team in an SME food packaging manufacturer. Candidates must have a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and be a team player. The role consists of a mix of electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance, monitoring and repair of production equipment and facility maintenance tasks as needed. Improvement Project work is also required. The client needs candidates who will adhere to strict health and safety regulations as well to abide by the high expectations towards hygiene and quality standards. Candidates will possess excellent communication and decision making skills in order to keep machine up-time at the highest levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain electromechanical plant operations and performance in order to maximise effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement plant maintenance, servicing and monitoring programmes for all key equipment.
  • Carry out planned maintenance in a timely manner; this includes building maintenance.
  • Ensure hygiene and quality standards are met at all times
  • Ensure good communication between maintenance team, production team and senior management.

  • Ensure Health and Safety regulation are followed at all times.

Qualifications and Experienced Required:

  • Required: BTEC ONC Level 3 Electrical Engineering or C+G Electrical Engineering 2565 Level 3 or similar
  • Desirable: 17th Edition Electrical Regulations Qualification.
  • Required: 4 Year apprenticeship in Electrical maintenance/similar role or 4 year apprenticeship in Engineering with formal accredited multiskilling but must be above qualification level.
  • Required: 5 years minimum post apprenticeship experience in Multi skilled Technician or Electrical Technician position held within medium sized manufacturing industry, processing, or FMCG.
  • Desirable: Experience of Plant Uptime and Planned Maintenance systems.

Skills and Person Specification:

  • Good team player with positive approach to getting the job done.
  • Excellent electrical and engineering fault-finding skills, diagnostic/troubleshooting skills, including PLC diagnostic experience.
  • Experience in fault-finding and mechanical maintenance in a production/operations environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to business requirements which might include: covering shifts, resolve issues out of hours, training of new staff, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs.

Salary:             £30,000 per annum (plus occasional Saturday overtime available)

Hours:              Permanent: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday (6am – 2pm with flexibility). The shift

                        Will move to 2pm – 12am with Fridays off.

Benefits:           26 days holiday plus bank holidays for a five-day work week. If on four-day work week, 21 days holiday plus bank holidays.
