Description :

Our client is an innovative and successful Enterprise Information Management (EIM) company based in Central London and is seeking a Technical Consultant to provide consulting services that support the deployment and configuration to their new software platform.

Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Signals etc.) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Ideally the Technical Consultant will have experienced implementation, programming, building reports and applications, while also have interacted with a number of different technologies (listed below). However you must have attained a degree, or equivalent, in a related area such as Computer Science. This is a fantastic opportunity for the Technical Consultant to develop a wide skill-set that will see you progress within the company at a fast pace.

The Technical Consultant will be able to interact at a client level early on, whilst being part of a supportive team, working with and learning from experienced colleagues. As this is a client facing role you will be need to be able to travel and work away from home. In addition, you will be required to undertake security clearance due to the nature of some of the work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements gathering
  • Analysis of process and company data
  • Implementation planning and delivery
  • Design and development of the software platform (including coding) with varying hands-on technical responsibilities such as configuration, development of new UI, customisation or systems integration
  • Training of end users
  • Presales support as required
  • Other responsibilities will be developed as you grow within this position

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • A degree or equivalent in a related area such as Computer Science
  • Genuine interest in innovative technology and how it can be used in a business environment
  • Vested interest in how technology can improve business process
  • Outstanding communication skills, both in writing and verbally
  • Very close attention to detail
  • Previous Customer service work experience would be beneficial to this role

Desirable:

  • Implementation, programming (C++, Java or Microsoft.NET), building reports, building applications etc.
  • Proficiency in the collection, preparation (including clean-up of missing and incomplete data) and enrichment of data
  • Good understanding of object orientated programming and data modelling, including relational data
  • An appreciation for unstructured data and how this can be modelled and value extracted
  • Microsoft SQL Server, Elasticsearch, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Microsoft.NET or Java
  • Excel
  • Technologies such as NoSQL databases, big data, MapReduce, and enterprise search
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Bootstrap or equivalent UX frameworks
  • Microsoft SSIS or equivalent ETL tools
  • Experience of integrating with cloud API’s to fetch data (REST, Web Services, ODATA)

Salary:

£30,000 - £40,000 DOE
