Description :

Our client is an innovative and highly successful Enterprise Information Management (EIM) company based in Central London and is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to provide consulting services that lead the design, deployment and configuration to their new software platform.

Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Signals etc.) are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Senior Technical Architect will be leading a team, as well as owning the design of the customer’s architecture and overall technical implementation. You will work closely with the project manager and senior members of the team to ensure successful outcome for the projects.

Ideally you will have excellent leadership skills as well as be experienced with a number of technologies (listed below) and creating high level design documents. It is essential you have a degree or equivalent in areas such as Computer Science. As this is a client facing role you will be need to be able to travel and work away from home. In addition, you will be required to undertake security clearance due to the nature of some of the work.

  • Analysis of process and company data
  • Leading the design and development of the product’s solutions (high level design documents and detail design documents)
  • Leading implementation planning and delivery
  • Training of end users
  • Presales support as required
  • Other responsibilities will be developed as you grow within this position

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • A degree or equivalent in a related area such as Computer Science
  • Genuine interest in innovative technology and how it can be used in a business environment
  • Vested interest in how technology can improve business process
  • Outstanding communication skills, both in writing and verbally
  • Very close attention to detail
  • Leadership experience

Desirable:

  • Team leadership, project leadership and coaching skills
  • Creation of high-level design documents and detail design documents
  • Working closely with the project manager and assisting in planning and scoping activities
  • Implementation, programming (C++, Java or Microsoft.NET), building reports, building applications etc.
  • Proficiency in the collection, preparation (including clean-up of missing and incomplete data) and enrichment of data
  • Good understanding of object orientated programming and data modelling, including relational data
  • An appreciation for unstructured data and how this can be modelled and value extracted
  • Microsoft SQL Server, Elasticsearch, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Microsoft.NET or Java
  • Excel
  • Technologies such as NoSQL databases, big data, MapReduce, and enterprise search
  • Microsoft Azure and/or Google Computer Cloud
  • Microsoft SSIS or equivalent ETL tools

Salary:

£55,000 - £65,000 DOE
