Description :

The largest provider of hazardous waste collection services to the UK’s motor vehicle companies, are seeking HGV Drivers to collect and deliver various types of waste to and from customers’ premises. You will be responsible for safe operation of the vehicle and all paperwork compliance. Have proven experience in being compliant on driving and duty period as per EU legislation and company policy, adopting environmentally considered driving techniques. Waste includes batteries, oil, filters, plastics etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collections and Deliveries all waste materials
  • Service customers’ requirements as per the manifests and detailed instructions
  • Daily vehicle checks, defecting when required and completion of all relevant paperwork
  • Identify and communicate additional customer requirements to all operational staff
  • Key point of contact for customer, ensure you deliver a professional considered service
  • Any additional duties as required within your skill set
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and ensuring you meet full capacity at all times
  • Comply with all Transport operating procedures and policies
  • Promote health and safety on and off site, raising near misses when required

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Licence classification for vehicle (HGV Class 2)
  • Valid Driver CPC card
  • Valid Digital Tachograph card. Experienced in the use of manual entries
  • Previous experience with tankers and Curtain sided vehicles. Ability to strop and load lose loads
  • Good manual handling abilities and proactive at assessing dynamic risks
  • Knowledge of Consignment notes and information contained within
  • Good knowledge of UK roads
  • Good customer service skills and effective oral communicator
  • Tacho hours and regulations knowledge, especially surrounding O’ licence commitments
  • Clean and current driving licence

Desirable:

  • Valid ADR Certification in tanks and packages; Various classes (training will be provided)
