EB5535 Real Driving Emissions (RDE) Engineer
Location: Nuneaton
Salary: £28,200 - £40,300 DOE
Forces Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a RDE Engineer to work for a global provider of engineering, research and test services to the automotive, defence, aerospace and rail sectors. Our client works in close collaboration with vehicle manufacturers and suppliers around the world, providing comprehensive support ranging from individual product tests to turn key engineering design, development and build programmes.
Due to the nature of the role, you may be required to work extended hours and travel overseas on project work.
Applications from ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged.
Main purpose of role:
- To execute Real Driving Emissions (RDE) tests, in support of engineering programmes
- To support development of methodology for testing using Portable Emissions Measurement Systems (PEMS)
- To be able to train engineers and technicians for RDE competences
Essential Experience:
- Automotive experience in delivering vehicle engineering programmes to cost, time and quality objectives
Desirable experience:
- Vehicle development and/or vehicle emissions experience
- Vehicle driving experience to set routes and driving styles
- Training and/or auditing role
- An experienced driver with capability of driving many types of vehicle in a controlled manner.
- Work to required Health & Safety standards and ensure that company quality standards are adhered to.
- Powertrain rig testing to customer test cycles
- Vehicle testing – on road and chassis dynamometer
- Vehicle calibration or exhaust emission testing
- Advanced Driver training
Skills
- Be competent to be able work alongside customer engineers, our engineers or unsupervised to carry out test programmes.
- Be competent to carry out unsupervised - Planned Facility Maintenance and Repairs.
- Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to integrate into a team working environment.
Qualifications
- Full Driving Licence for Passenger Cars
- Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering
- Higher Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering would be desirable
Salary: £28,200 - £40,300 (depending on experience)
