Description :

Our client is looking to expand their team and recruit an experienced Control Room Operator to handle incoming and outgoing communications from our client’s recovery drivers and customers.

Reporting to the Control Centre Manager, the successful candidate will work directly with logistical and operational teams to ensure recovery solutions are delivered above and beyond customers` expectations. It is anticipated that the Control Room Operator work shifts to a total of 9 hours a day (average of 42 hours per week), and may have varied start times but follow a repeat pattern of 7on 3off, and 7on 4off. Some evenings work may be required, potentially working upwards to 2am in the morning.

Applications from ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To take incoming communications across a range of mediums (email, telephone etc.) which will be from our client’s recovery drivers and customers, ensuring that you respond accordingly and in the appropriate manner at all times
  • Develop effective response plans from the correct operating procedures
  • To deploy roadside resources, such as Recovery Technicians, and follow-up to ensure the required activity has been undertaken to contribute to the achievement of required performance targets
  • To ensure that all parties are informed and receiving the accurate information in a timely manner
  • Continuously monitor the operation of the network by obtaining and reviewing information from multiple sources so that appropriate action can be taken
  • To ensure that accurate records of all works are kept and maintained
  • Work collaboratively to quickly resolve issues which can cause significant impact to the business
  • To share documentation and training to all relevant teams to ensure effective knowledge transfer
  • To assist in the training of operators and support staff
  • To demonstrate a cohesive approach and communicate confidently at the highest level to build meaningful external and internal relationships
  • To ensure all other departments are up to date with any progress, issues or changes and report accordingly
  • To take a proactive approach to the Health and Safety of themselves and others during all tasks undertaken

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Good working knowledge of Office applications such as Outlook and Word
  • Able to accurately capture, record and relay information using appropriate technology
  • To be able to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate control if challenged
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to communicate issues to technical and non-technical people alike
  • Excellent organisational skills with the prioritisation and execution of actions and the ability to carry out their responsibilities with the minimum of supervision
  • Previous experience in either customer services or logistics environment (desirable).

Additional Requirement: To be able to pass Police Vetting processes

Salary:             £20,000 – £22,000 (depending on experience)
