Description :

Forces Recruitment Services is working in partnership with a client to expand their team and recruit a Night Concierge, ideally from an ex-military background or military leavers, to effectively maintain the internal and external communal areas and provide a high standard level of service at night, to residents and all visitors, within a highly regarded estate in Shoreditch, Central London.

Working for a privately owned property management company, you will work on a 4 nights on, 4 nights off shift, and your hours of work will be between 7pm and 7am.

Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Marines) however all applications will be considered.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, on a daily basis, all internal areas of the private residential buildings and report any defects, security or Health and Safety concerns to the Property Manager.
  • Walk around the entire estate each night and note any specific problems. If necessary, notify Head Office daily of any queries or problems relating to the estate which require attention.
  • Report any defect or Health and Safety concern, no matter what its nature, to your line manager.
  • Be polite and courteous to all residents in addition to members of the public, other staff, guests, and to contractors employed on the estate.
  • Wear the uniform and identification badge provided and be clean and tidy in appearance (dry cleaning of uniform can be claimed as expenses).
  • Enter all relevant comments/details in the porters’ log, and to liaise with the estate security officers with regard to the signing in and out of all contractors and service personnel in attendance to the communal areas of the estate.
  • Supervise any keys which may be held in reception, and ensure that they are correctly logged in and out in accordance with agreed procedures.
  • Receive and keep safe registered mail and deliveries for residents.
  • Deal with all general telephone enquiries and log messages.
  • Carry out a daily check of all internal and external light fittings and replace light bulbs where necessary. Contact Head Office if contractors are required.
  • Ensure that all incidents or accidents are logged accordingly.
  • Carry out a daily litter pick (both inside, and outside around the entrance).
  • Carry out security check of the site perimeter daily.
  • Where directed by the Property Manager test mechanical, emergency and other systems weekly and keep a log as required.
  • Keep log of items stored in residents` storage room.
  • Keep management store and porters` desk in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Assist residents with deliveries, contractor visits and general queries as far as reasonably possible (including, at concierge`s sole discretion, any minor lifting and carrying to/from individual properties).
  • Hold keys for residents, provided an indemnity form has been signed.
  • Accept and hold deliveries for residents, provided an indemnity form has been signed.
  • Supervise all contractors who work on site, ensuring that if the main entrance door need to be kept open for any length of time it is monitored.
  • Keep a log of all contractor visits and work carried out.
  • Ensure that the site is fully equipped and order all necessary materials and equipment such as light bulbs, cleaning materials, etc.
  • Some lifting required within the Manual Handling Regulations

Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:

  • Educated to GCSE (Grade C) English and Maths or equivalent
  • Property Maintenance skills such as City & Guilds or equivalent desirable
  • Proven experience of working with the public is essential, ideally in a service related, customer facing capacity
  • Practical DIY skills
  • Basic knowledge of PC and Microsoft packages
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Knowledge of general maintenance and Health & Safety requirements is advantageous
  • Be able to work on own initiative and have ability to multitask
  • Professional attitude to service provision
  • Friendly and helpful
  • Must be polite and courteous
  • Awareness of required responsibilities where “Lone Working” maybe a requirement of the role

Salary:             £22,000
