The Company and the Role:
Proud and established Company looking for an experienced permanent Bus Driver in Wiltshire, part of one of the largest passenger transport providers in the UK. Offering flexible full-time rotas, good salary, on-going training and career path. The position is permanent.
Key Features of the Role:
The position is for friendly, customer focused and experienced PCV licenced Drivers.
You will be driving one of a number of bus routes through and around Wiltshire picking up and dropping off passengers.
You will dispense bus tickets for passenger journeys and offer advice to passengers on the best cost for their transport needs.
You will work with a buddy driver to get you accustomed to the routes with the eventual goal of you being responsible for your bus and passengers.
In this role, you will have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively with members of the public.
Using good personal time keeping to make sure you are running on time. As well as a smart appearance as you will be the face of the company to all passengers as well as the company representative to all non-passengers that see you on your route.
You will need to be able to handle money and issue tickets and change, offering the best advice and keeping up to date with ticketing products.
Knowledge and Skills:
To be successful in this role you must be an accomplished Bus Driver and hold a Category D / PCV driving licence with a current Drivers CPC qualification with less than 3 penalty points on your licence.
The role would suit a candidate with a proven track record working within this role, ideally in Public Transport / Coach Driving (Bus or Coach Driver).
You will be a well organised individual with excellent time management and customer service skills.
You will need to be emotionally robust and someone who is always thinking and assessing the risk to themselves, their passengers and vehicle. Positivity and awareness are key skills in this role.
You will either hold a DBS certificate or be willing / able to attain via the Company.
What`s on Offer:
Basic salary is between £9.13 - £10.83 per hour depending on experience (with an average basic annual salary around £18,516 - £21,963 based on hourly rate and 39 hours per week). Plus on-going pay reviews and a 4 year pay increase structure.
You will typically work any 5 days from 7 and your working day can start as early as 5.15am, and your latest return time could be 1am. Any one day`s working will be in accordance with Drivers Hours regulations.
The standard working week is 39 hours but overtime is available if you are interested and happy to increase your earning potential.
You will receive 20 days` holiday plus bank and public holidays.
Company pension, flexible rotas, free travel for you and your partner/spouse/nominee on the Company network.
Stable long term employment, with on-going training and career development / progression, in a career where every day is different.
