This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and positive individual that is looking for a press related marketing role, to join the Policy, Marketing and Communications Team. The new version for the department is to be dynamic, modern and innovative team that utilises digital methods and new ideas to communicate and engage effectively with businesses and wider stakeholders.
The role of Press and Communications Officer requires excellent communication skills, especially written, and a good understanding of the marketing function. Our Client perates in a B2B landscape so experience in this ype of environment would be beneficial. The Press and communications Officer will also need to display xceptional attention to detail and organisational skills in this position.

Key Tasks
Content creation in line with the annual communication plan, covering all channels including copy for online sources.
Responsible for the creation and distribution of press releases that are proactive and planned throougout the year, as well as reactive content to breaking news. Highlighting the chamber representative view of local businesses.
Active relationship seeking and management of local media contacts with the Head of Policy, Marketing and Communications.
Marketing material creation based on briefs and with the support of an external marketing agency. e.g brochures and documents.
Magazine editor for the quarterly member magazine, Prosper. The main day to day contact with the external producers of the magazine, content review and creation for the editorial section.
Production of thought leadership content for online documents (inclduing blog content). Working with external sources and internal team members to support this.
All content in line with KPIs and overall Chamber objectives.
Frequent report on content success through all channels and this will lead to intelligence for future creation. Focusing on content that is of high quality and supports businesses.
Utilisation of the CRM system to make sure activity and interestes can be tracked.
Management of external contracts to deliver objectives.
Key objectives/ taregts
To create relevant (based on research) and high quality content on a regular basis that supports businesses
To increase the usage/engagement of content by business and media
To increase the use of the members in the local and national media - maintaining an active database of the businesses to membership/commercial products.
Regular reports on key KPIS to measure the success of each activity
Identify commercial opportunitites to increase revenue in the department
Job Requirements
An understanding of the B2B landscape
Good communication skills at all levels and across a variety of channels, including excellent written skills
Experience in marketing and / or press related role
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure objectives are achieved
Ability to effectively liaise with all external suppliers/contacts
Works well in a team and across functions
Full driving Licence and access to a car
Enthusiastic and positive individual with a can do atttitude
Embraces and identifies new ideas, with an understanding of the digital landscape
