The Company is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to account manage a terrority comprising of parts of Staffordshire and West Midlands e.g. Stoke on Trent. Wolverhampton and Walsall.   The position is permanent.
Reporting into a Regional Sales Manager, you will be allocated a geographical area and the key objectives of the role are to achieve sales and cash margin targets for your defined geographic territory, open profitable new accounts and build strong relationships with new and existing customers ensuring that their current and future needs are effectively managed.

Key Features of the Role:
Achieve sales and margin targets based on a commercial plan.
Driving the growth of your area and will be responsible for increasing revenue from newly acquired new accounts or from existing account spend.
Win and retain profitable new business in line with company standards.
Grow retained customer numbers to achieve agreed standards.
Have an effective journey plan to ensure appropriate levels of regular contact to achieve targets with planned objectives and outputs for each call.
Work with internal customers and suppliers to maximise opportunities.
Work closely with telesales and marketing to ensure compliance, retention and delivery of company campaigns.
Utilise `Vecta` reporting for all activity, outputs and planning.
Understanding of sales and margin performance vs. targets for portfolio and by customer.
Work with suppliers and internal departments, such as Telesales and Transport to maximise sales and operational efficiencies
Strengthen relationships with existing and new accounts through effective cross selling and up selling.
Drive agreed company campaigns and support agreed focus to meet customer and company targets.

Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate is likely to be an experienced Terrority Sales / Business Development Manager with experience having been gained with a delivered foodservice wholesaler or possibly catering equipment sector.
You will have a \"hunter\" style mentality to grow the business on a day to day basis and you will be tenacious, self - motivated and ideally living in or close to either Stoke on Trent, Cannock, Wolverhampton or Walsall.
As our client is a forward thinking growth player in the foodservice sector, candidates must be career focused and motivated towards driving substantial growth across their territory and be interested in developing a career within man management.
A natural confident communicator and negotiator you must understand what it takes to deliver a quality service to business customers and be capable of forging your own sales plans.
You will be numerate, have excellent presentation and communication skills, be able to communicate at all levels and be decisive, assertive and persuasive.
You will enjoy a level of autonomy and therefore must be highly self-motivated to achieve agreed goals.
You will have strong negotiating and relationship skills and able to manage your own time effectively.
A full driving licence is a prerequisite.
