Our client is a renewable resources and energy company producing biomass from unproductive rubber trees in Liberia - helping to rejuvenate one of its most important industries while producing a renewable source of power.

Our client has a fleet of 50 Scania logging trucks and employs 78 trailer drivers.

These numbers will increase by 50% in 2012.

New Drivers follow an intensive training programme and periodic training of all Drivers will remain throughout their career.

They are currently seeking a Driver Trainer to be based at Port Buchanan, Liberia. The position can be considered permanent via one year renewable contracts.

A key focus of the role is to train 3 Driver Trainers to conduct driver training (includes night-time driving training).

You will train and assess Drivers periodically.

You will set up and implement training program on driving skills, truck knowledge, road behaviour and social/home situation.

You will improve pre-hire testing of new drivers.

You will assist the Transport Manager in training/assessment-related matters.
You will be an accomplished transport professional with direct experience of driver training.

Ideally you will have spent some part of your career working overseas ideally in Africa.

Military experience would be ideal i.e, RLC Master Driver level or equivalent.
In addition you should have a positive, professional and proactive approach and have the essential ability to communicate at all levels.
You must be able to build a professional relationship with Driver (and Trainers).
You should possess excellent influencing, motivational, communication and presentation skills and an ability to immediately establish credibility across all levels of staff.

You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and ideally one other language.

Superb communication and diplomacy skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. Tact, diplomacy, influencing skills is essential.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Driver Trainer looking for something different.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.

The contract can be single status or accompanied. Shared 3 bedroom apartment with own private bathroom is provided along with medical / health insurance, meals, laundry service  are all provided free. A company vehicle will also be provided. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.

The work rota is 5 months on, one month off although the client has indicated they may be willing to negotiate on the work rota. For each R and R the company provides a free flight back to your home airport or any other airport at same cost.

Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
