SW4152: Principal Systems Engineer (Renewable Energy)

Salary:£35,000- £40,000 DOE + Benefits
A Principal Systems Engineer is required to design, develop, qualify and support the systems design aspects of a variety of electro-mechanical systems. Based in North Devon, the Principal Systems Engineer will act as Technical Manager and/or Systems Design Authority where necessary, principally within the Renewable Energy area.

Duties
*To take responsibility for the systems design of a variety of electro-mechanical systems supplied by the client for the Marine Renewable business. To support, where required, the other client streams within the Oil & Gas and Defence Industries.
*As a Technical Manager to provide technical leadership to a small team of engineers.
*As Technical Manager to provide support and work closely with the Project Manager in ensuring that the overall technical requirements are being met, through requirements analysis and tracking, generation of interface control and user documentation, planning and conduct of equipment test and trials, validation & verification, on-going customer support and co-ordination of specialist design support activities such as safety and logistics support tasks
*To liaise with the Management on estimates to complete as required.
*To be lead and/or support offshore / overseas deployments as required.
*To support business development activities by preparing proposals estimating costs and planning development activities.
Candidate Profile
*Your ability to lead a small team is vital, with a willingness to work with people from other engineering disciplines in order to achieve the overall objectives.
*You should be familiar with system engineering tools such as the IBM Rational Suite. Knowledge of MS Project and MATLAB would be an advantage.
*You should be able to provide accurate estimates for systems engineering work and be able to plan your work.
*You should be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all engineering disciplines.
*Experience of, and an interest in Marine Renewable Energy is highly desirable.
*You should possess a degree or equivalent.
*You should hold a full UK Driving Licence.
