SW4151:PROJECT MANAGER/PLANNER

A Project Manager/Planner is required to scope, plan and coordinate procurement, manufacturing and repair tasks in support of electro-mechanical engineering projects. Based in North Devon, the Project Manager / Planner will liaise with MOD and commercial customers on requirements, issues, progress and provide day-to-day project supervision reporting to a Senior Project Manager. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their project management skills and progress in this field.

Duties
*Act as a customer point of contact and task coordinator/planner in the execution of various support contracts for the MOD and commercial clients.
*Check drawings for accuracy against contract requirements and prepare bills of material using a computerised system.
*From bills of material and estimating sheets, prepare computerised tasks against assemblies.
*Prepare process route sheets against tasks and multi-operation sub-contract items detailing manufacturing operations and highlighting any special drawing requirements or risk areas.
*Identify any special tooling requirements and liaise with engineering and production to mitigate risks. Resolve problems and expedite delivery.
*Input and control drawing changes and concessionary actions.
*Maintain project records and data as directed by Senior Project Managers.
Candidate Profile
*The candidate is to have an engineering or project management background, with minimum qualifications of NVQ3, ONC or equivalent.
*Possess good communication and computer skills, a confident telephone manner and must be comfortable dealing with customers.
*Experience of production workshop practices and engineering manufacture would be advantageous.
*Must be well motivated and keen to work in a busy and successful team. Must be prepared to accept responsibility and work autonomously once competent.
