The Company and the Role:
Awesome permanent Deskside Project Engineer opportunity to work on a long-term project in London, requiring a deskside information communication technology background, and rail sector experience.
Your purpose is to support infrastructure and operational processes using high level and professional interpersonal skills, in an award-winning national Communications Company who are involved in new, exciting and challenging projects.
The role requires you to own users issues till completion, ensuring collaborative team working runs efficiently and effectively.
You will be the primary site contact fixing minor issues, passing the users to the IT teams advanced remote support service desks, and providing assistance to the Business Systems Manager.
Working with the project team to understand the site mobilisations and work with Business Systems Manager and Office Manager to deliver an agreed solution within the project timescales.
Key Features of the Role:
Responsible for ICT induction and introduction.
Responsible for the allocation of equipment to owners e.g. PC`s and associated peripherals, site server with back-up systems, printers, photocopiers, plotters, televisions, internal cable network, various telephone systems and other hardware purchased or hired.
Maintaining the site asset register of equipment and licenced software allocation and equipment off-hired.
Ensuring equipment is serviceable and maintained in collaboration with the Office Manager and that suitable consumable numbers are in stock.
Expediting satisfactory resolutions of support calls and mailed requests to the IT Service Desk(s).
Noting user issues encountered for trend analysis.
Organising new or upgrades of external and internal networks for site offices
Organising, allocation, tracking and support of mobile devices (IOS/Android)
Managing IT Security and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Knowledge and Skills:
As Deskside Project Engineer it is essential you have exceptional interpersonal skills.
You must have experience co-operating with suppliers, service providers and users in the UK market.
It is essential that you have current / recent deskside engineering experience.
You must be London based and the local office is within public transport links, however you will need your own transport so you can get to other local sites.
You must have knowledge and ability in Document Management Systems.
You must have experience of supporting infrastructure, preferably in the rail sector.
You must have a good understanding of PC`s, Microsoft Software packages and ideally iPhone and iPad knowledge.
You must have current organisational experience and have worked in an autonomous and self-motivational role.
You must be emotionally robust enough to handle multiple external and internal stakeholders, as well as flexible and willing to learn new ICT skills and knowledge through training sessions and career development plans.
What`s on Offer?
A basic salary up to £35,000, which will be assessed at interview and based on experience, plus other contributing factors.
Core working hours are Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
25 days holiday + bank holidays + additional 1 day`s holiday for every year worked up to 30 days holiday maximum.
The option to buy up to an extra 5 holiday days.
