Luke Irwin is an established and recognised luxury brand which sells rugs from a shop in London SW1. It is a privately owned company with a small team that aims to build upon its success by recruiting dynamic and exceptional people into the team.
Following steady growth since the shop opened in London SW1 in 2010, the company is now recruiting a customer-facing Logistics / Delivery driver.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Deliveries
- Delivery and collection of rugs (usually within M25).
- Cutting and laying of underlay.
- Laying out rugs, for example when delivery to customers on approval.
- Unwrapping rugs from export packaging, rewrapping in polythene tubing, labelling.
- Company supplies Ford Transit van which has a parking space behind the shop.
- Full responsibility for the van eg. washing, keeping in good condition (MOT and repairs can be organised through the office) and refuelling.
2. Warehouse
Managing rug storage within 3rd party warehouse eg. keeping rugs labelled in accordance with the stock list and racks.
3. Shop help
- Maintaining shop appearance, specifically changing light bulbs, hanging rugs, rotating stock monthly by swapping goods on display with goods from the warehouse.
- Assisting Sales team in rolling out rugs when clients come into the showroom
- being a friendly helping hand when in the office.
Skills and Requirements
- Physical strength and good fitness level
- able to lift and hang rugs single handedly (additional help can be organised when required).
- Personable character and able to represent a luxury brand in front of customers.
- Good communication skills
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Van driving experience preferable
Work will be spread between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and with overtime paid if necessary (very occasional weekend work). The work load varies in accordance with customer and business needs on a week by week basis but normally the schedule can be agreed each Thursday or Friday for the following week.
