The Company and the Role:
The company provides expertise in Facilities and Logistics Management and Catering Services Worldwide on Remote Sites, Military and Construction Accommodation Camps, Mining and Energy projects.
They are seeking a Catering Food Safety QA Supervisor. The position is permanent based in Mali, Africa.
Key Features of the Role:
You will undertake the maintenance and co-ordination of the catering food safety program to maintain and meet compliance requirements within several mass catering outlets.
You will co-ordinate and assist with technical training and overall competency to management and employees with regards to the operational aspects of the catering food safety program, pest control, environmental, operational methods and personnel practices, and maintenance for food safety and hygiene /cleaning practices.
You will complete food supplier audits (against the HACCP systems implemented) identifying corrective actions required and escalation of major concerns and ensure action there of as required.
You will ensure that all registers and records and documentation relating to the Catering Food Safety System are properly maintained.
You will work closely with other safety roles within the company – assisting as required and develop a supportive relationship and perform other duties as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager or Site Manager.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ideally experienced within a multi-site catering environment covering all aspects of a catering food safety program including pest control, environmental, operational methods and personnel practices, and maintenance for food safety and hygiene /cleaning practices.
Past experience of working in either Africa, Middle East, Afghanistan, Iraq etc is highly beneficial as is working in any remote or isolated location working on UN/DLA/SPV food supply contracts.
You will have previous experience within a mass-catering operation with a strong understanding of food safety systems, HACCP principles, inspection and audit programs.
You will demonstrate experience of inspection within food premises based on HACCP principles
You must be able to speak English. German language skills but not essential.
You will be flexible, possess initiative and able to pick things up quickly.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally, you should be IT/PC literate and possess a Drivers Licence.
What’s on Offer?
A competitive basic salary per annum tax free according to your experience, knowledge and skill set.
In addition, there will be bonus available subject to 12 months completed service.
Paid vacation of 42 days per year including local land festive holidays, free food and accommodation, medical insurance, life assurance and 2 flights paid per annum.
