An ambitious and large progressive company that delivers technology/IT solutions is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant to join their friendly and accomplished teams based in Guernsey. The Senior Business Intelligence Consultant will be active in the planning, management, development and implementation of data centric projects within the BI team. The individual will be working with multiple clients using the Microsoft BI stack to deliver professional solutions and support services at an advanced level. Engagement with stakeholders at all levels and involvement in all stages of the project lifecycle will occur; including, initial client consultancy, producing proposals and technical delivery. The position will also involve acting as a leader and mentor for more junior members of the BI team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development and delivery of Microsoft enterprise BI solutions on customer data.
- Take accountability and responsibility for consistently delivering projects to targets and on budget with a high level of professionalism.
- Meet with clients to understand business requirements and use logical common sense and pragmatism to address those requirements with appropriate technology choices.
- Work in partnership with client stakeholders, establish trust and take responsibility for the ongoing management of client relationships.
- Act as a mentor to more junior members of the Business Intelligence team
- Producing proposals for medium and large projects and presenting those proposals to client stakeholders up to CxO level
- Leading medium and large projects and working with project managers to deliver projects
- Identifying potential clients and building and maintaining customer relationships
- Keeping technical skills current by attending conferences and/or training courses
- Mentoring more junior members of the team
Person Specification:
- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing solutions across many of the following technologies:
- Expertise in MS SQL Server T-SQL
- Expertise in two or more of the Microsoft BI application stack including (SSIS, SSAS, SSAS, OLAP, RDBMS)
- Exposure to Performance Point, Power Pivot & MDX, PowerBI
- Demonstrable understanding of enterprise BI concepts, Data Warehousing and associated tools
- Knowledge of designing and implementing ETL processes, integrating with a disparate line of business systems and databases
- Possess proven track record at a senior technical level
- The ideal Candidate will also have the following non-technical skills:
- Business facing with the skills and a proven consultative approach.
- Strong command of professional communication skills (written, oral)
- Experienced IT professional with the ability to be the technical lead on projects comprising the above technologies
- Able to rapidly establish credibility with clients through effective communication of technical knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects to deadlines and within budgets
- Positive customer service attitude
- Smart appearance and professional manner
- Proactively seeks to effectively coach and mentor; regarded and sought by more junior staff as a coach and mentor
- Motivated to keep abreast of changing technologies and ability to articulate these to both peers and clients.

Desirable:
- Hold a current SQL Server MCSE qualification.
