BS5356: Design and Project Technician
Location: Wrexham, Denbighshire

Salary: to £32,000 plus Benefits
The world’s largest manufacturer of high-technology cables and systems for energy and telecommunications is now looking for a Design and Project Technician to work in its Wrexham facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Design and Project Technician will manage drawing office services and systems for the production, engineering and maintenance functions and in support of project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration of all drawing office systems including control of process tooling design drawings
- Provide technical support to the maintenance function by providing access to existing documentation but also by devising innovative solutions to operational problems
- Provide support to other departments on drawing related services
- Lead small projects, including co-ordination with external contractors
- Ensure that all proposed designs adhere to relevant current safety and environmental legislation
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to a minimum of HNC standard in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Fully conversant with the use of Autocad 2016 and Microsoft Office applications.
- Mechanical design experience with metals and plastics.
- Ideally have completed an accredited apprenticeship.
- Ideally have a background in maintenance / manufacturing.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Project management skills
- Self-starter / self-motivated
