The Company and the Role:

The Company`s hotels are more like a restaurant with rooms and kitchen garden. The concept was created in 2011 and has been recognised with many accolades and industry awards.

The Company is currently looking for dedicated and passionate Junior Sommeliers to join their dedicated Wine Team, at one of the most exciting award-winning hotel and restaurants in North Somerset. The position is permanent.
Key Features of the Role:
Ensuring all areas are properly stocked and set up ready for service
Ensuring an effective wine and beverage service in the restaurant at all times
Full knowledge of the wine list in order to assist guests with their choices, being able to make appropriate recommendations where necessary
Being aware of all bookings and any guest special requirements
Updates to the hotel wine selections and listings
Resolving any guest queries relating to the wine and drink service
Ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of all wine service equipment
Knowledge and Skills:
Junior Sommeliers should have a passion for wines and spirits and have a friendly and warm persona.
The hotel is willing to employ someone who is ambitious and has minimal knowledge as a Sommelier.
They are willing to train you and put you on Sommelier WSET courses if you are willing to work hard and progress within the group.
Previous experience as a Wine Waiter in a Fine Dining restaurant would be preferable but this hotel does not do wine snobbery or stuffiness!
Experienced in some level of wine tasting courses or studies in wine and spirits is preferred, but the hotel will provide you with any other qualifications that might be required WSET 1+2.
You will gain knowledge of the fantastic menus, learn how the restaurant is run and have amble opportunity to further develop your skills within this award winning restaurant.
You will be fully knowledgeable of the menus, recipes and all beverage offerings.
You should possess ambition to continually push yourself to move up to the next career level.
You will be a great team player with good organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a very busy hotel and restaurant, where the Company`s reputation for serving good quality wines alongside consistently preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality, is second to none.
You should have a passion for wines having a desire to aim for high standards.

What`s on Offer?
A Junior Sommeliers basic salary will range between £17,500 - £18K per annum depending upon your knowledge and wine qualification set (assessed at interview), plus tronc worth around £2,500 per annum. Staff Accommodation is available but it is not on-site, subject to a personal contribution towards the rent.
Working 5 days out of 7, lunch and dinner typically working 40 - 45 hours per week.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days plus all bank and public holidays, rising by 1 day each year for 5 years.
