Description :

The Contracts Coordinator will join a busy office environment of a well-established manufacturer of centrifugal pumps systems and will provide support role to the Service Centre Manager, coordinating repair jobs from enquiry through to job completion. Although the role is based in the Service Centre, occasion travel to vendors/customers may be requested.

This position will be supporting the repair, overhaul, and upgrade of pumps, valves and services of rotating equipment across all industries. The Contract Coordinator will develop scopes of work and cost estimates for all enquiries, which include in-house jobs, RFQs and parts enquiries. The role will also be responsible for any Oil & Gas and Power Framework proposals.

Applications from ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit quotations within agreed timescales
  • Ensure orders are correctly entered into the SAP system and updated with correct information daily
  • Produce accurate cost calculations and quotations for manufacture, repair or servicing of components
  • Liaise with other departments on available capacity, raw material and sub-contract requirements
  • Frequent contact with clients to clarify tender requirements and negotiation on cost or delivery
  • Achievement of department KPIs
  • All documents prepared are in adherence to specifications and deadlines
  • Works with vendors to ensure quality, delivery and cost requirements are met
  • Negotiates price and delivery with vendors
  • Regularly communicates with sales on status of repair orders
  • Interact and provide repair status direct to customers
  • Works with workshop personnel, sales, engineering and customer(s) to define repair and scheduling requirements
  • Develop base cost for all jobs, parts orders, request for quotations (RFQs), which includes labour, material and outside services
  • Schedules workflow to ensure delivery requirements are met and facility resources are used efficiently (e.g., engineering, vendors)
  • Technical responses to customers/vendors when necessary
  • Technical decisions on component refurbishments/repairs

Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:

  • Good engineering background with experience of services, repair and maintenance of pumps, valves, compressors and rotating equipment
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly numerate with excellent command of Microsoft Office especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience of SAP would be an advantage
  • Ability to work within the company’s policy and procedure
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet required time schedules
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Valid UK Driving License

Salary: £20,000 – £25,000 (DOE)

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm
