The Company and the Role:
Amazing full time PHP Developer opportunity, working as part of a growing development team and Company to deliver quality web and mobile solutions. This is a permanent position which will be based in Southampton once the new office is up and running in 2018.
The Company was established over 10 years ago and now have a team of about 40+ helping the business manage its client`s day to day IT and Software responsibilities across the UK and overseas, the dedicated team offers a complete end-to-end digital service.
The Company is looking to offer long term career stability and security to the right talented individual who can help the Company with PHP Development. As a business they maintain hosting environments, support over 200 business websites and web environments, including World Health Initiatives developing technology.
In this role you will be using content management systems and toolkits to deliver your web and mobile solutions. You can work from Salisbury until the new office in Southampton is open, which is believed to be between July - September 2018.
As an experienced PHP Developer, you will use your working knowledge of MySQL, HTML, XML, CSS and JavaScript.
Key Features of the Role:
You will need to be able to apply your PHP Development experience and working knowledge of MySQL, HTML, XML, CSS and JavaScript, with a clear understanding of responsive design, web security, source control, and experience working with databases, payment gateways and third-party APIs.
You will work closely with in-house Designers to draw up detailed project specifications, meeting with client to identify their needs and liaise regularly with them, as well as supporting existing systems.
You will understand agile project methodologies, work to budget and deadlines, and maintain a good knowledge of current technologies, to provide an efficient method of project delivery, whilst offering well considered solutions.
Working Practice such as drawing up detailed project specifications, presenting initial design ideas to clients, coding using a variety of software, working with different CMS, meeting relevant legal requirements such as accessibility standards, freedom of information and privacy.
Knowledge and Skills:
As PHP Developer you must have current or recent experience with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, JSON, CSV Generation and Data Manipulation.
You must also have experience in development of either Joomla, Magento or WordPress.
You would also ideally have experience in the following: Drupal, SharePoint, MSSQL, SQLite, IIS, Apache Configuration, GiTHub, Subversion, Payment Gateway Integration of Sage Pay, WorldPay, PayPal.
It would also be desirable if you have had some experience in the following project management, keeping daily records, proof reading editing and amends, debugging code, liaising with outside agencies, website testing, client handover and post sales technical support including training, continual software development professional service calls.
Driving licences and own transport to get to the Company office.
What`s on Offer?
The PHP Developer opportunity offers a basic salary ranging from £30,000 to £40,000 depending on experience.
No shift work, late nights or continuous weekend work. However, going above and beyond to provide client services is expected.
20 days annual leave incrementing by 1 day per year in service up to 25, plus public bank holidays.
3 Month probationary period.
Enrolment into the Company Pension Scheme, statutory employer contributions.
