An engineer is required to join one of the UK`s largest and fastest growing fuel and lubricants distribution companies. As a Lubrication Engineer, you will support the Industrial and Commercial Vehicle lubricants business development teams to achieve their volume growth targets with technical support and customer relationship management.  This key role will suit engineering professionals with excellent knowledge of the industry, industry equipment and proven reputation for delivering customer focused results. The successful candidate will gain a detailed understanding of the advanced product technology and associated benefits to deliver customer focused engineering solutions and financial benefits.  As a Distributor Lubricant Engineer you will be a brand ambassador and this representation must meet the highest professional standards at all times. The position is a field based role and offers a competitive salary, benefits and a great company to work for.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confidently and competently present the benefits of the premium product line into a competitive market and challenging customers.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of  product strategy, technical advantages and marketing programmes by forming strong relationships with key personnel and in particular the manufacturers Field Engineering Services team
  • Meet individual business performance targets as well as contributing to the success of the Industrial lubricants sales teams` collective goals.
  • Undertake regular engineering reviews with existing customers and employ pro-active methods to increase customer loyalty by understanding issues and problem solving accordingly.
  • Perform cost-­benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
  • Take ownership of the Distributor Planned Engineering Services offer and develop an expert knowledge of the lubricant analysis programme for delivery into new and existing customers.
  • Proactively manage all business communication and contribute to the customer pipeline opportunity development.
  • Create, review and develop value documentation to support sales development and customer retention, including: Equipment Builder Process, Engineering Based Reports  and Proof of Performance testimonials
  • Understand new product development features and benefits and provide advanced training for Sales Representatives in their target sectors.
  • Be an active member of the Distributor Lubrication Engineering Academy, and help develop the manufacturers Field Engineering Services relationships.
  • Ensure full compliance with company systems, procedures, health & safety policy and policies.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experienced Required:

 

  • Level 3/4 qualification ( relevant HND, Degree preferred and advantageous)
  • Over 5 years` experience in a similar role
  • An advanced knowledge or experience of industrial markets ( Gas/ Engines / Paper etc..) beneficial
  • Previous experience of premium brands in the relevant industry an advantage
  • Awareness of Microsoft Dynamics CRM an advantage
  • Computer literacy is essential and competent to operate in all Microsoft programmes
  • Understanding of relevant sector and category management
  • Understand commercial opportunities and have the ability to negotiate to close
  • Articulate with excellent communication skills a wide vocabulary with good grammar
  • Able to deliver a presentation clearly to a wide variety of audiences
  • Full Driving Licence
