Description :

Based on an historic military airfield, an exciting position has become available for an Aircraft Engineer to join a CAA licensed engineering company and working as part of their small team, to carry out maintenance on piston engine aircrafts (typically Cessna 150/172/182).

On occasions, it may be necessary to work extra hours to meet deadlines, therefore it is anticipated that the Aircraft Engineer would have the flexibility to be able to vary their hours to the needs and requirements of the client.

Applications from ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Marines) with suitably transferrable skills and experience are strongly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

×           To undertake maintenance tasks on the aircraft under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.

×           To keep an accurate daily time record of maintenance activities on each aircraft worked upon

×           To be prepared to adjust working hours and arrangements when necessary.

Knowledge and skills required:

×           Aviation experience working on piston engine GA aircraft, typically Beechcraft, Cessna and Piper

×           Be familiar with CAA & FAA Airworthiness Directive formats

×           Experience with CAFAM would be preferable but not essential

×           Computer literate (familiar with the use of Excel spreadsheets, Word documents)

×           Knowledge of how to use aircraft maintenance data (e.g. Service Manuals, Parts Catalogues and Airworthiness Directives)

×           Able to understand and interpret the requirements of aircraft manufacturers’ maintenance requirements

The candidate should ideally be looking to take the relevant civil exams to obtain licensed status and would be offered assistance by the client with the required study.

Salary:             £30,000 - £36,000 per annum (DOE)

Work Pattern:   Monday to Friday with occasional weekends

Benefits:           20 days’ holiday plus Bank Holiday

Pension Scheme (with the ability to opt out)

This job is no longer available for new applications.
