Description :

A fascinating position as an Assessment Manager is available with a UK, government-recognised organisation that evaluates and accredits companies that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services. The Assessment Manager is to manage and perform quality system and/or technical assessments to evaluate the competence and conformity of suppliers of services against specified standards and requirements. Assessments and accreditations are conducted in accordance with international standards and as such ensure that everyone in the supply chain can be confident in the service delivery and product quality of goods. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation helping to lay the foundations for future growth in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert for Radio Frequency calibration
  • To be accountable for assessments by ensuring that the service is fit for purpose and delivers robust findings with justifiable conclusions and recommendations
  • Management of assessments to deliver the scope and scale of accredited activities
  • Ensure that all timescales are met for the production of assessment reports
  • Proactively manage the customer relationship providing appropriate support, guidance and conflict/dispute resolution where appropriate
  • Key contact for the customer relationship including as the lead and/or technical assessor
  • Create effective, competent assessment teams with the appropriate skills
  • Provide ‘added value’ guidance on how accreditation and assessment standards could be used by customers to support their growth and development
  • Ensure technical and administrative policies/procedure are completed and are compliant
  • Deliver all expectations with excellent customer service
  • Leadership and management of the assessment team
  • Deliver presentations and represent organisation in relevant external forums and committees

Essential:

  • An understanding of the theory behind Radio Frequency (RF) calibration theory
  • Technical expertise in RF and microwave calibration measurements or electrical calibration background with experience of RF or a related discipline

Desirable:

  • Practical laboratory experience, preferably within an ISO/IEC 17025 measurement environment
  • A keen interest in metrology and its implementation
  • An appropriate technical education in an engineering discipline

Person Specification:

You will exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with laboratory staff, management and stakeholders at all levels. You must be prepared to travel extensively throughout the UK with overnight stays when necessary.
