Production Engineer

Egham, Surrey

An exciting opportunity has risen for a Production Engineer who has previous experience working within a fast and challenging environment. The Production Engineer will manage a small assembly workshop which involves the preparation of designs and information to enable products of suitable quality to be assembled at an optimum cost.

Main Duties and Responsibilties

Develop and maintain bills of materials, drawings, assembly instructions and test procedures associated with CPC (UK) manufactured/finished products

Prepare electrical and mechanical drawings using CAD Software (AutoCad or possibly Solidworks) with work instructions for assembly in workshop

Basic electrical design works for simple alarm panels and auxiliary equipment

Supervise and manage day to day operation of workshop

Allocation of work and monitoring of perfromance and quality

Production planning in conjunction with workshop

Identify and implement improved working practices in workshop

Liaise with suppliers to address warranty, performance and quality control issues

Manage warranty and product/component defect returns

Identify and evaluate new component suppliers

Monitor and investigate product failures and warranty issues to determine root cause failure and future preventative measures

Prepare and maintain technical manuals and documentation

Identify and evaluate product shortfalls and formulate recommendations for improvement

Testing and performance evaluation of new and existing products

Prototype manufacture, testing and evaluation

Qualifications /Experience

An Engineering qualification or Experience is essential

Organised and able to plan and prioritise

Able to problem solve

Working knowledge of Health & Safety at Work procedures

Computer literate (Microsoft Office packages, e-mail)

Willingness to learn new skills

Able to coach, mentor and lead others

Reliable

Able to stay calum under pressure

Able to tolerate a significant amount of routine work
