A Head Porter is required to manage the running of a private, prestigious accommodation block in Kensington, London. The successful applicant will demonstrate a helpful nature, common sense, discretion, diplomacy and be solutions orientated. The position offers a competitive salary, desirable accommodation and a great place to work.
Applications from ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities / Experience:
- Security of the residential accommodation, patrolling all floors at various times of the day.
- Management of access and keys to all tenanted accommodation and service buildings.
- Supervise and liaise with the Deputy Head Porter.
- Record keeping and entry logs for visitors to be maintained.
- Ensuring the maintenance of the building.
- Ensuring all contractors adhere to the building regulations as set out by management, including the supervision of cleaners and removal contractors.
- Removal of rubbish from outside individual flats, and place outside on collection days, in readiness for collection.
- Ensure front steps and main entrance halls are clean and tidy at all times. In severe weather ensure steps are safe and accessible. Garden areas and walkways to be kept litter free.
Person specification:
- Hands on and happy to undertake manual tasks, including but not limited to small repairs, maintenance, decoration or similar.
- Smart appearance.
- Polite, reliable and punctual.
- Diplomatic and discrete.
- Disciplined, professional, honest.
- Common sense with can do attitude.
Salary: £22,000 – £25,000 + Accommodation
