They are currently seeking a Surveillance Field Systems Engineer to be based at their site in North London. The role is permanent
As a Surveillance Field Systems Engineer your remit is commissioning Harbour Acceptance and Sea Acceptance Tests for Shore Based Sensors, Naval and Security Systems.
You will be required to work at client sites in the UK as well as opportunities to work abroad. With an exceptional overtime allowance and earning potential.
Key Features of the Role:
Surveillance Field Systems Engineer will carry out service interventions, pre-installation ship surveys and site surveys for Shore Based Sensors/Naval and produce detailed reports.
You will participate in Shore Based Sensors, Naval and Security Trials and Testing activities to characterise and prove system capabilities.
You will complete short training courses as part of a setting to work / commissioning exercise and participate in technical meetings. As well as providing technical liaison with sales teams and customers.
Part of the role will require you to complete service reports and maintaining confidentiality of any sensitive product information.
You will also be expected to be physically active, as you may have to walk 300-400 metres with a tool kit possibly weighing 10 kilos.
You will be expected to travel within the UK and overseas at short notice.
Knowledge and Skills:
You must be an accomplished Surveillance Field Systems Engineer.
You must be OND qualified, preferably have an HND in an Electronics field.
You must have experience in an electronics servicing environment, preferably Marine orientated, with a proven track record in demonstrating knowledge of electronics in a hands on discipline.
You must have sound knowledge of computer including hardware and software with the ability to use various software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
You must also be able to walk up the equivalent of 10 flights of stairs, plus an additional 10 meters on a ladder, as well as working at heights up to 40 metres, harnessing yourself to a mast to commence service activities, or fit into tight spaces and twist and manoeuvre your body.
You must be a current UK resident for the last 5 years with proof of address, as well as a GB or EU passport holder, with a clean UK driving licence and own vehicle. Unfortunately Visa / Sponsored candidates cannot be considered due to background and security check compliance requirements.
