The Company is a well-established, highly recognised and exclusive London Club situated within the West End (SW1). With its magnificent interior, standards are kept high for the members. This professional standard reaches right across the entire service and the desire for `excellence` touches every sector within.
The Club is now seeking enthusiastic Bar and Waiting Staff. You will be joining a thoroughly professional and dedicated team delivering an exemplary service to its Members. This position is Permanent.
The current team have an outstanding sense of pride with the service that they deliver; happy and enthusiastic with a magnificently professional finish. Whilst this is an established location, for a traditional membership, the expectations are second to none and the position will really allow you to commit to the team, show the genuine enthusiasm that you bring and honestly enjoy the work whilst making a difference.
You will need to have a real passion for delivering the highest levels of service. As one of the Bar and Waiting Staff you will need some, respectable, experience of working within a quality food and beverage outlet together with a true passion for customer excellence. A positive attitude and an eagerness to take on this opportunity, plus the desire to work with a proficient team, within a thoroughly welcoming environment, are all crucial. You will be expected to take bar and waiting orders and deliver food & drinks as well as helping out with your fellow team members. This is a really exciting team role.
Your role will be to deliver a truly friendly, thoroughly efficient customer service and create a genuinely warm and welcoming atmosphere to all members and their guests - you are important and can make a positive difference.
Key Features of the Role:
The position is within a well-established London members` Club which is dedicated to providing exceptional event management and overall outstanding hospitality for its existing membership.
You will need to deliver a first-rate customer service approach at all times, with a neat well-presented and highly polished finish but not forgetting a positive, energetic and happy approach. Good communication and organisational skills to be able to take requests and if necessary assist with members` enquiries. You will need to have exceptional local `Club` knowledge which the members will value.
The ability to deal with both challenging and busy times in a fast-moving environment, as well as showing initiative when in quieter times. Important will be an ability to carry out instructions given by the Club Management Team and duties as per the established job lists or as directed.
Be involved and one of the team, contribute and take the initiative when appropriate. You must have a willingness to take on jobs to balance the team workload with an enthusiastic and positive approach to work; above all, enjoy the role ! It will be important to maintain excellent time-keeping, arrive on time wearing the correct uniform, be willingly to assist members, whilst anticipating their needs or requirements. Be proud, you will represent the Club and yourself in a professional manner at all times.
Discretion, honesty and diplomacy. Be professional at all times when serving beverages with a consistent efficiency. You will need to be accountable and have the ability to record and enter all sales accurately onto the till, especially at busy times, whilst keeping a calm and polite manner under pressure.
Knowledge and Skills:
As one of the Bar and Waiting Staff you will be required to have the knowledge to prepare the restaurant station, layup tables, collect orders and serve required items, plus serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
A good knowledge of wine, drinks and their options plus a basic knowledge of food would be useful.
You will require basic accounting skills in order to be able to manage cash, cheques and credit card payments received.
Able to communicate in order that you can make sure the members are aware of any recommendations. Able to speak to customers in order to ensure that they are satisfied with their requirements and the skill to pre-empt their requirements.
Have good initiative and organisations skills so that you will be able to assist with preparation and plan ahead for upcoming events during your shift.
Knowledge of licencing laws so that you can adhere to the Club`s policies and procedures and licensing laws.
A knowledge and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene plus a knowledge of the profession but a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different situations.
Above all, have `pride` in what you - you`re an important member of the whole team with a valuable skill !
What`s on Offer:
Salary: £16,390 within a 40 hours per week working 5 out of 7 days. In addition, you have a minimum of 20 days holiday plus bank and public holidays, Life insurance; pension scheme; free meals on duty; uniforms and excellent progression opportunities. Added to this there is a Christmas closure with Chairman`s Christmas Fund pays staff £1800 to £2100 after one year of service
