Description :

Since 1959 Vitso has created and evolved furniture that allows its customers to live better, with less, that lasts longer. We have consistently stood up to a world that has favoured new over better. With single-minded determination we have not only designed and made furniture that lasts for generations but we have striven to support it with our very best customer service. In 2017, Vitso moved from its central London workshop to an important site in Royal Leamington Spa in the centre of England.

Vitso designed a low-energy, modest, expandable building that will adapt continuously in response to the changing needs of its occupiers for many decades. The primary purpose of our new building is to create a space in which our business may thrive in a collaborative and convivial atmosphere, for the long term.

To help achieve this we are looking for one or two people to take ownership of both the building (38,000 sq ft) and its landscape (the site covers 3.3 acres). He, she or they will oversee the entire function of the building from security and cleaning to facilities management including, say, inductions for everyone using the building (how to open windows; operate blinds; lock doors etc).

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person(s) who would like to play a key role in maintaining our premises, to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for the whole community and enrich the lives of their colleagues working here. The building comprises production facilities, offices and accommodation for visitors (4 rooms + 1 flat).

We have a kitchen and chef

-so that we can gather together two or three times a day to drink or break bread

--without our screens.

Importantly the live-in accommodation will be available to the successful applicant(s).

The person(s) will have:

  •  an eye for detail
  •  good communication and organisational skills
  •  the right to work in the UK
  •  a positive hands-on approach to building maintenance
  • an ability to work responsively without supervision
