Mechanical Fitter
Key Responsibilities
Work proactively to maintain and repair equipment across a multiple areas of the plant
Promptly respond to breakdowns and planned maintenance work
To carry out routine Mechanical Maintenance e.g Pumps, Filters
To work safely at all times observing instructions, procedures, permits, safety systems, lock offs and other protocols applicable
To assist wherever and whenever possible in safety improvementts
To maintain plant and equipment both reactively (e.g breakdowns) and proactively
To systematically establish cause of failure in equipment
To identify root causes whereever possible and to communicate with relevant personnel
To work efficiently and expediently in all duties undertaken
To communicate all relevant and necessary information with lead technician, maintenance technician, colleagues or others within the organisation
To hand over any work which remains incomplete at the end of shift
To report any non-conformances as observed
To record activities as directed
To refer to records, drawings, manuels, and other material as necessary
To comply with all company policies and rules
To work effectively with colleagues and subcontractors
To perform any other duties as required by The Company
Routine equipment checks and lubrication
About you
Knowledge of Die casting, CNC machines and robots would be advantageous
Must be educated to a minimum standard of ONC/OND/HND/HNC/NVQ level 3 or eqivalent in Maintenance Engineering or be a time served fitter
Be able to demonstrate ability to understand Engineering drawings
Competent in turning and milling
Be able to weld and burn
Demonstrate Health and Safety Awareness
Pneumatic and Hydraulic experience
Full driving Licence
Reliable and flexible attitude to work
Excellent communication skills. Able to build relationships with colleagues, suppliers and contractors
Able to organise own workload
Hours of Work Monday to Friday 14.00pm - 22.05pm (20 minute unpaid break each day)
Shift Premium 20% payable on basic rate (not applicable to overtime hours)
