Description :

Our client, who has a well-established line maintenance base around the UK, and also handles a wide range of customer airlines and aircraft types, is seeking a number of B1 Licensed Engineers. The B1 Licenced Engineers are to carry out or supervise inspections, maintenance, testing and checks according to the rules and procedures, in order to release aircraft into service.

The B1 Licensed Engineers will carry out Line Maintenance duties on a variety of aircraft and engine types (A320 and B737CL/NG) and be able to show details of all approvals and a copy of their EASA Part-66 License.

Applications from ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and British Army) with suitably transferable skills and experience are strongly encouraged.

Inspections:

  • Carry out or supervise technical handling of an aircraft, within the scheduled ground time, according current carriers instructions
  • Performs the checklist according to aircraft type and carriers instructions
  • Inspects the duties performed
  • Signs the AML/CML + BOW (Aircraft tech log and cabin log) for maintenance release

Analysing defects and complaints:

  • Monitors telex information from the crew and/or Maintenance Control Centre
  • Contact flight crew directly after arrival for debriefing
  • Checks logbooks for open items
  • Analyses defects and complaints
  • Decides if defects and complaints can be rectified immediately
  • Informs and consults home base and Service Manager/Operations/Crew upon actions to be taken.
  • At all times keeping Duty Engineer, Maintenance Manager informed of Aircraft On the Ground (AOG)/Delay situations.

Repair, technical handling and modifications:

  • Carry out or supervise maintenance and repairs of the aircraft
  • Ensures availability of work instructions (checklist)
  • Plans and organises the repair process and deploys Mechanics
  • Performs or supervises repairs and technical handling Communicates with home base and Service Manager/Operations/Crew about the progress of the repair or the modification process. 
  • At all times keeping Duty Engineer, Maintenance Manager informed of Aircraft On the Ground (AOG)/Delay situations.
  • Inspects the repairs and modifications

Administration:

  • Performs all administration related to the technical handling of the carrier, according instructions and procedures by the carrier

Supervision of Mechanics:

  • Checks if duties are performed under safe conditions
  • Coaches (Certifying) Mechanics

The successful candidates will:

  • Have a minimum 7 years aircraft maintenance experience
  • Hold a Part 66 B1 License with approvals
  • Be current (six months within last 2 years) on each type [A320/B737]
  • Have good administration skills
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be able to work on your own initiative and in a team environment
  • Have a flexible approach
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK without Visa sponsorship
  • Hold a current UK driving licence

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
