Position Summary:

Electromechanical Engineer /Surveyor

You will have six to eight years industry experience and a background in buildings services/technical services /commissioning and installation of electromechanical equipment, an enthusiasm for consultancy and a desire to increase your skills and expertise in the lifts/buildings industry. You will be working on a large number of lift projects with a wide variety of clients to ensure compliance, improve safety and performance through inspection and testing of lift equipment whilst working with a team to analyse problems and provide/implement cost effective solutions to legacy systems/poor working environments.

An essential component of role will be client care and the ability to understand their needs . You must have a broad based engineering knowledge including; electro-mechanical systems, electrical/controls engineering, hydraulics, pneumatics and maintenance techniques coupled with the ability to communicate ideas and solutions in a clear and concise manner is central to the role.

Responsibilities of this role Include:

  •  Surveying and reporting on electrical systems in existing buildings
  •  Liaising with clients, other members of the design team, suppliers and contractors as necessary
  • Analysis of existing systems (effectiveness/suitability for clients etc.)
  •  Undertaking design calculations
  •  Developing design proposals at sketch, detail design and production stages
  • Preparing tender documentation
  • Preparing clear and concise reports Assisting in other departments and areas when the needs of the business require.
  • Take responsibility for all client projects assigned to you:
  • Operate within agreed authorities, inspection and H&S standards • Produce and deliver high quality reports
  • Manage a personal diary and keep abreast of changes in relevant standards and legislation
  • Report to the directors at monthly progress meetings and as required
  • Represent the firm in a professional manner and maintain their reputation at all times

Role Summary -

Essential skills & experience:

Hard Skills

  • Six to eight years' relevant industry experience working in mechanical or electromechanical environments with at least 6 years site experience in building services or allied trade such as electromechanical installation/commission and survey.
  • Experience with audit and maintenance work within buildings /structures environment
  • Must be able to comprehend and understand electrical drawings.
  • Managing and working with contractors to adhere to specifications and drawings
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to understand and draft technical documents
  • Hold a full clean UK driving licence and willing to travel to sites as required, being flexible in their hours of work when required

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) at all levels to maintain good relationships and prepare reports
  • Must be able to work independently and use initiative to solve problems
  • Highly organised, punctual and efficient time management
  • The ability to work with a team of specialists in a professional, friendly, confident manner and develop client relationships.

Desirable skills and Experiences:

  • Experience and knowledge of the building services sector.
  • Experience in project management.
  •  Procurement and Tenders
