Description :

Universal Instrument Services is a well-established company offering a complete calibration service for all types of electrical and dimensional test and measurement equipment.

We are looking for a second full time person (or may consider part-time) to work in our Goods In/Out Department.

There are three main functions:

1. Accurate and careful unpacking and processing of incoming parcels, checking paperwork against goods received, moving equipment to correct departments and computer receipt of purchase orders.

2 Cleaning calibrated equipment in readiness for return to the customer, removing old labelling, checking of all paperwork, certificate and accessories and application of new labelling, computer entry of despatch details, computerised production of despatch documentation, packing parcels to a high standard in preparation for daily courier collection.

3. Processing receipt of incoming calibration items onto our computerised system, Matching equipment to customers paperwork, Accurate interpretation of customers requirements from order paperwork or account notes, computer data entry of calibration requirements, production of job sheets, equipment labelling and correct routing/movement of equipment to calibration departments.

The successful applicant will also be required to provide holiday/sickness cover for our own delivery driver offering collection and delivery direct to our customers and will therefore be required to hold a full UK driving licence

This is NOT a warehouse position and there is no stock control associated with this role. Items are, in the main, small and light, so careful and appropriate manual handling skills are vital. We are a calibration service provider, working solely on customers own equipment and so careful processing/handling is essential as well as attention to detail and accuracy at all times.

  • Receipt/processing of equipment for calibration
  • Entering instruments on to our computerised system
  • Production of job sheets/labels
  • Manual/Physical movement of equipment within our premises
  • Housekeeping, maintaining a clean and tidy work environment etc
  • Face to face contact with customers
  • Conducting manual checks
