Description :

SW 4828: Deputy Process Manager

Salary:         £35,000 - £37,500 DOE

Location:     The Falkland Islands

My client is looking for a Deputy Process Manager (Sampling and Testing) for a 12-month fixed term contract in The Falkland Islands, to assist in the running of plant machinery to break down oil waste on the Island.  Reporting to the Engineering Process Manager, the Deputy Process Manager (Sampling and Testing) is likely to be experienced in taking fuel/oil/waste samples, analysing, testing and reporting results of various tests. You will be experienced in safe liquid fuel handling and aware of the risks these pose. Training will take place in Devon or Hampshire and following pre-deployment holidays the team will deploy to the Falkland Island in Jan 18.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for collection of waste oil/fuel samples, their testing, analysing and reporting of these results to the Engineering Process Manager and to the MPA staff
  • Responsible for maintaining and testing laboratory equipment with sufficient stores, equipment and spares to maintain testing despite the time lapse between order and supply from UK
  • Responsible for communication to the client and feedback on the effectiveness of the processing plant
  • Be capable of deputising for the Engineering Process Manager or the Deputy Process Manager (Fitter) during rotations, sickness or training.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience of sample management and running a small laboratory is essential
  • Professional qualifications or referenced practical experience is essential
  • The suitability for deputising for the Process Manager or the Deputy Engineering Manager (Fitter) will be essential, so mechanical or electrical engineering experience is a requirement

Training would commence in the UK approx. October with work starting in January 2018 (15 months in total).  This role will ideally suit someone from a Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force background who has fuel/lubricant management experience (Pet Ops, Fuel Ops or equivalent).  Simple, but comfortable accommodation and meals will be provided in the MPA area at no cost (civilian contractor units).  6 weeks holiday every 6 months working on a rota basis with the other team members.

Interested applicants are to submit their CV in the first instance and a covering letter if possible.  Forces Recruitment Services were the first military recruitment company and are still the largest.  We are providing an agency style service for our client.  Please ask for Lee when making contact.

Salary:         £35,000 - £37,500 DOE

Location:     The Falkland Islands
