Description :

HR Manager required by one of the worlds leading specialist suppliers of fuel products within austere/challenging environments! NCS Fuel is an established, reliable specialist in the provision of petroleum, oils and lubricants and related fuel management, logistics and financial services. NCS Fuel is part of the World Fuel Services Group, one of the Worlds leading providers of fuel related services and a recognised Fortune 100 company.

The HR Manager will oversee all human resources activities across the NCS Fuel business and partner with the NCS Fuel leadership team to ensure that HR priorities are aligned to the business’ short and long term strategy. They will work closely with business managers, acting as the first point of HR contact, ensuring that strategies are implemented that optimise talent retention, talent development and employee relations across this multi-location environment. This position will involve partnering with employees at all levels.

The jobholder will also be responsible for ensuring efficient, seamless and value-add HR processes and procedures that are fit for purpose and best in class for the NCS Fuel business.

Core duties and responsibilities will include:

  •  Employee Relations - ensuring that mechanisms are in place to enable escalation of employee issues on an ongoing basis in order that the employee relations climate remains positive through proactive management of employee issues. Ensure that managers are equipped and skilled to drive a positive employee relations agenda in order that business performance has zero disruption as a result of employee issues.
  •  Workforce Planning - Ensure that the operations are resourced optimally, taking actions to increase, decrease or reshape the workforce profile, in order that the business operating targets are achieved. Support the HR Director in planning and executing new business growth initiatives “ for example, new country establishment or new project tenders/awards, in order that new business opportunities can be realised".  
  • Compensation - Working with the internal compensation partners, ensure that the organisation is compensated appropriately according to local market and industry practices, and in accordance with internal WFS compensation philosophy and business requirements, in order that the business is able to attract, retain and motivate its employee base, whilst managing overall employee costs, enabling business goals to be achieved.
  •  Employee Development - Ensure that managers throughout the organisation have employee learning/training & development as an ongoing priority, and that they understand and drive the link between business performance and employee learning/training, in order that the business is able to drive performance through enhanced employee skills. Ensure a performance management culture within the business, ensuring full implementation of an ongoing and annual performance & development process.
  •  HR Function - Partner with the business leadership team to ensure that People/HR initiatives and priorities are aligned with the business vision, mission and goals, in order that the HR agenda is fully aligned with the business agenda and delivers maximum value

The Individual

  •  Experience gained as HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor, supporting a multi-site business that operates and employs people in hazardous or challenging locations (e.g. military or "red zone" environments) is essential.
  •  The successful candidate is likely to be educated to degree level and CIPD qualified is desirable.
  •  Experience working as part of a business management team “ acting as a member of a management team but also a coach to fellow managers is essential".
  •  Experience of supporting industrial or military populations, and strong understanding of the considerations in supporting a remotely based and ˜in theatre blue collar workforce is essential
  •  The successful candidate will be a strong HR generalist, with good experience in all areas of HR, but with specific experience of employee relations and talent management
  •  Strong stakeholder management skills are essential - demonstrating tenacity, with a robust and strong personality, in order to manage issues positively and constructively in a challenging environment.
  •  Strong levels of written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • A highly customer focused approach is essential.
  •  Experience of and willingness to work in austere environment.
