Description :

An experienced Project Engineer is required to join a niche supplier of process cooling, air conditioning and ventilation services in this business critical role. Providing HVAC services, largely to the food manufacturing sector, we have developed a wealth of expertise in our industry and have built a committed work force, providing a range of innovative solutions to blue chip clients.

The Project Engineer position offers a great opportunity to develop within a growing business. The successful applicant will be able solutions orientated, managing a variety of client problems and taking responsibility for delivering quality working solutions, often requiring a novel / bespoke approach. It is expected that the Project Engineer will split their time evenly between the office and site locations. There may be requirements, from time to time, to stay away overnight in order to be on site at the start of the day.

Responsibilities & Duties:

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer who can handle undertake the following;

  • Responsible for managing projects from concept through to handover
  • Work within an existing established contracts team
  • Communication with clients to understand their requirements and time scales and to ensure their expectation are met
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and specifications
  • Negotiate with and project manage suppliers and sub-contractors from enquiry through to delivery
  • Have the system technically designed and drawn (in house)
  • Issue layout drawings to the client for consideration / comment
  • Issue fabrication drawings for quotes
  • Issue orders  to meet agreed installation dates
  • Sort out installation teams which could include (mechanical, electrical, controls, pipework, refrigeration and others)
  • Produce method statements / risk assessments for projects
  • Be responsible for ensuring health and safety standards are met and processes are adhered to
  • Control drawing issue
  • Control budget and issuing management of invoices
  • Arrange commissioning
  • Prepare operations manuals

Skills & Experience:

No previous experience in air conditioning, ventilation or process cooling is required. However the following requirements should be observed:

  • A Mechanical / Electrical engineering qualification to HND or degree level
  • Demonstrable experience gained in a Project Engineer / Project Manager position
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Use of Microsoft project or similar and office selection software
  • Proficient in all aspects of Health and Safety
  • The ability to run projects simultaneously
  • Ability to control budgets and cash flow
  • A full UK drivers licence (as regular travel to sites anywhere in the UK will be required)

£30,000 to £40,000 + Car + Benefits
